Visakhapatnam: A multi-layer security blanket has been thrown over the City of Destiny as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold a kilometer-long roadshow and address a public meeting in connection with the launching of mega projects worth over Rs2 lakh crore.
"We are not taking any chances as far as security bandobast and protocol arrangements are concerned in view of the Prime Minister's visit to Andhra Pradesh," TDP national secretary and IT, Education and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh said after reviewing the preparation for the big event.
SPG, several companies from the para-military forces, Greyhounds and others along with sniffer dogs and bomb detection squads have been deployed as part of the multi-layer security blanket at the vulnerable points and the entire route covered by the Prime Minister's entourage. Complete barricading has been done on the roadshow route with special police posts throroughly frisking vehicles entering into the sea.
Giving a big push to NDA's commitment to green energy and sustainable future, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the state-of-the-art NTPC Green Energy Limited Green Hydrogen Hub Project at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, which is the first Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
"The project aims to generate over 57,000 employment opportunities, thereby significantly contributing to the local economy and showcasing Andhra Pradesh’s role as a key player in the global green energy landscape," NTPC said.
Along with the Green Hydrogen Hub, Modi will lay the foundation stone for South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone headquarters in Visakhapatnam, a Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli in Anakapalle district and Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) virtually from the Andhra University Engineering College Grounds on Wednesday evening.
From here he will fly to Bhubaneswar on a two-day visit to inaugurate the Prabasi Odia Congress.
Green Hydrogen Hub project entails an investment of Rs1.85 lakh crore. This will include investment in 20 GW renewable energy capacities, making it one of India’s largest integrated green hydrogen production facilities with a capacity of producing 1500 tonnes per day (TPD) green hydrogen and 7500 TPD green hydrogen derivatives including green methanol, green urea and sustainable aviation fuel, primarily targeting the export market. The project will contribute substantially in achieving India’s non-fossil energy capacity target of 500 GW by 2030. Modi during his short visit to the city will dedicate to the nation, lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various railway and road projects worth over Rs19,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh which includes foundation stone laying of new zone's headquarters in Visakhapatnam.
As part of his his vision of accessible and affordable healthcare, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for the Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli. The Bulk Drug Park will create thousands of jobs while helping accelerate economic growth due to its proximity to the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR).
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of KRIS City under Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, in Tirupati district . KRIS City, a flagship project under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, is envisioned as a greenfield industrial smart city.
